Psoriasis Symptoms by Stage:

Early Symptoms of Psoriasis: Psoriasis usually begins with small pink papules, which are covered with fine white scales. These papules start merging into plaques, which is usually accompanied by itching.

Progressive Stage Psoriasis Symptoms: In this stage, smaller plaques grow into larger ones, and merge with one another. They keep itching. During this stage, many patients experience the Koebner phenomenon: in case of skin injury (tattoo, piercing, cuts, nicks, etc.), psoriasis may affect the damaged skin.

Stationary Stage Psoriasis Symptoms: This stage usually begins a few weeks after the progressive stage. The old lesions are covered with very thick white scales, but new lesions do not appear.

Regressive Stage Psoriasis Symptoms: This "stage" usually happens when you start treating psoriasis; however, some lucky people can see this type of remission without any treatment. The plaques stop growing; they flatten and turn pale. The scaling decreases. The lesions gradually decrease in size and disappear, leaving discoloration on the skin.

Treatment: Current treatment of psoriasis falls into the following three major categories:

Topical Therapy (medication externally applied to the skin)

Phototherapy (UV light applied to the skin)

Systematic treatment (medications taken orally by mouth)

Suggested Dosage: 2 capsules early in the morning 1.5 hr before breakfast AND 2 capsules at bed time (night) 1.5 hr before meal OR as directed by physician.

Special instruction: There may be an aggravation of symptoms of psoriasis in certain patients in early stages of the treatment. In such case, discontinue therapy for 15 days (washout period) and then restart therapy with 1 capsule every 3 days or as directed by the physician.

Some important tips for effective treatment: Recommend daily baths or showers for persons with psoriasis. Avoid scrubbing too hard, because this can irritate the skin and trigger an attack.

Psoriasis often responds well to such strict dietary restrictions, like vegetarianism, fasting, and various other food restrictions (e.g. eliminating all dairy, or all fried foods, or all sweets etc.).

Oatmeal drinks without milk are also very effective in psoriasis treatment, a simple recipe: 1 liter of water + 1 cup of oats – bring this to a boil and leave on low heat for 30 minutes. Wait until it cools down and drink all you like (you can do this once or twice a day). They say it’s tasty, but you can add a spoonful of honey to make it even tastier.
